Optimum, a brand of Altice USA, has unveiled a new ‘Optimum 5 Gig Fiber Internet’ product, which it says represents the fastest residential fibre service in the New York Tri-State area, with symmetrical transmission speeds up to 5Gbps – more than twice as fast as speeds offered by competing fibre providers.
New 5Gbps and 2Gbps fibre tiers will launch in parts of Long Island beginning in June and be rolled out across the company’s entire Tri-State footprint by end-2022. Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) access is currently available to more than one million homes in the area.
