Altice USA targets 6.5m homes passed with fiber by end-2025

Altice USA has unveiled plans to accelerate its fiber deployment strategy over the next four years, with a view to reaching 6.5 million homes passed by the end of 2025. The company is confident of passing more than two-thirds of its entire footprint with fibre over the next four years, with approximately 2.5 million homes passed in its Suddenlink territory and four million homes passed by its Optimum brand.

Altice USA started rolling out fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connectivity in its Optimum territory in the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) back in September 2018, and claimed 1.2 million fibre passings as of 31 December 2021. For Suddenlink, construction is expected to begin this year in six areas of Texas, namely: Abilene, Amarillo, Bryan-College Station, Lubbock, San Angelo and Tyler.

Additional states in the Suddenlink footprint that will benefit from the fibre expansion plan include parts of Arizona, California, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
