As COVID-19 restrictions ease, and children return to schools and facilities that boost experiential learning, Innovation Corner by Omantel at the Children’s Public Library in Qurm has announced that it has resumed welcoming guests. The Innovation Corner by Omantel, targeted at children aged between 8 and 17 years,
provides a host of interactive learning tools that aim to spur digital knowledge among children using fun smart ICT solutions. It includes 3D printers, interactive electronic circuits, bespoke manufacturing devices, a virtual reality area and laser cutting machines. The Corner is run by four Omani inventors led by Sultan Al Subhi who share their knowledge on math, science, computers and STEM with the young visitors.
Laila Mohammed Al Wahaibi, Manager of CSR at Omantel said, “The facility was inaugurated in November 2019 and is aligned with Oman’s digital transformation strategy, Oman Vision 2040, UN Sustainable Development Goals and Omantel’s CSR efforts towards building a knowledge-based society. We are glad to announce the start of the new season for Innovation Corner and resume welcoming guests to enrich their experiences by spurring the innovation culture that Omantel adopts; the corner aims to utilize 3D capabilities and it made a significant contribution during the COVID-19 period through that used 3D printing to produce medical equipment for Ministry of Health’s staff.

The Library is fully equipped and includes different facilities, activities and events in order to provide a unique experience for our children enriching their knowledge using new and digital technologies under the supervision of experienced team. We are proud of this partnership with Omantel and confident that such experiences will add value to our visitors”.
