Orange Jordan supports "Daad" competition for Arabic digital content

Orange Jordan supported the Daad competition for Arabic digital content for university students. The winners were announced recently during the closing ceremony, held by the Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Int@j), in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation at Al Hussein Technical University, in the presence of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Orange Jordan, sponsors, universities faculties and competing students.

The youth who participated in the competition showed remarkable distinction in their projects and pride in the Arabic language through providing innovative content in line with the needs of the Internet and digital topics that are gaining more importance, in addition to showing the spirit of cooperation and hard work.

5 teams out of 32 won in the competition, namely; "Sutour" team having a video regarding the impact of technological developments on engineering from the engineering category, "Noe'd Al Qada" team with an article titled "Artificial Intelligence Applications in Education" in the business category, and "Future Youth" team with a video regarding the digital world and agriculture for the agriculture category, "Wahi" team presented a video about a website for medical consultations for mothers for the health category, and the "Unknown but Exist" team with a video about a digital application for new tourist destinations for the tourism category.

The competition seeks to increase Arabic content on the Internet, where the number of Arabic speakers is around 400 million, and it is the fifth most widely spoken language in the world, within the framework of the Daad initiative, which aims to include the Arabic language within the fourth industrial revolution based on the digital development and its different areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things.

Deputy Chief PR, CSR, and Corporate Communication, Eng. Rana Al-Dababneh, stressed one the importance of the competition to promote Arabic digital content on the Internet and encourage youth to enrich this content, embodying the ongoing partnership with the "Daad" initiative in line with the company's interest in supporting youth through partnerships, events, and training programs on digital and entrepreneurial skills as part of Orange's corporate social responsibility strategy.

The competition is the result of the cooperation of (Int@j), the Crown Prince Foundation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Jordan Academy of Arabic, Orange Jordan as the exclusive telecoms partner, the technical partner "Quality Business Solutions – QBS" for Business Solutions, the technical partner "Tomandora" Production, and the leading partners "Riyadah Radio" and "Kinda Art" for Arabic calligraphy, "Nahno Foundation" as the community partner, "General Computers & Electronics -GCE" as the knowledge partner.
