Globoplay, the international SVOD service from Portugal’s Brazil, is to launch in Europe and Canada.
The Portuguese streamer, combining classic and original titles, also plans to offer seven linear channels for subscribers in more than 20 countries in Europe.
When it launches on October 14, Globoplay subscribers will be able to choose from a library of telenovelas, original series, Brazilian movies, as well as live content, news and sports.
The initial European markets will be Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, UK and Switzerland.
Raphael Corrêa Netto, Globo’s International Business Director, said: “We are happy to expand the frontiers into new territories. Now, more experienced, we are taking a new step with the business in Europe and Canada. Globo’s streamer offers a universe of possibilities to subscribers through movies, telenovelas, original series and so many other amazing products on the platform. From October 14th we will be even closer to our audience, who will be able to watch any content whenever and wherever they want through Globoplay”.
Globoplay has been available in the United States since 2020.
