Arimac partners with Ooredoo Algeria to launch novel self-care app YOOZ

Further expanding its digital prowess across global boundaries, premier digital solutions provider Arimac recently partnered with the Algerian subsidiary of the telecommunications behemoth Ooredoo to develop a novel, feature-rich self-care mobile application ‘YOOZ’, for youth in the country.

This marks the first time a Sri Lankan IT organisation linked with an Algerian corporate for the development of a fully-fledged mobile app; thrusting Arimac into global spotlight.

“We are deeply honoured to partner with a world-class corporate such as Ooredoo to set a new benchmark in Sri Lanka’s technology sector by developing this unique self-care application which brings an intuitive, 360 solution to engage today’s youth. I applaud our committed and highly skilled team for their intense dedication to complete YOOZ within just six months in a pandemic-stricken backdrop that undoubtedly challenged us all in unprecedented ways. Arimac has always strived hard to accelerate development in the country’s ICT landscape, and YOOZ is yet another successful testament to this journey. We will continue to push the boundaries of excellence both within the country and the region as we innovate for the future,” Arimac Digital Founder and CEO Chamira Jayasinghe stated.

Bassam Yousef Al Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer, Ooredoo Algeria, commented, “At Ooredoo we consistently seek out cutting-edge technology to provide customers with first-time-ever, user experiences. Our aim is to elevate lifestyles, along with providing seamless connectivity. In Arimac we found the perfect partnership.”

Isabelle Hajri, Chief Marketing Officer, Ooredoo Algeria, commented “Arimac team worked closely with us and leveraged their out-of-the-box, creativity and unique design thinking dexterity to bring to life a solution, flawlessly merging with our vision. At a time when this pandemic has disconnected the world, our aim with YOOZ is to enable users to nurture their connections, through personalized data plans designed by them, catering to their own individual preferences and capacities. We are uber excited to connect and engage with our youth customer segment at a much deeper and intrinsic level, with YOOZ.”

With a sleek, easy-to-use interface, YOOZ gives users access to a carousel of exciting features and options, empowering them to enjoy better control over their mobile connections. YOOZ comes with a graphical, interactive dashboard that displays balance information, purchase history, and wallet information, amongst other insights. A conversational and gamified cognitive feature named ‘Roogy’ is built into the app to support users, while they are also given the option of building their customised mascot via the platform’s gadget shop. The mascot grows with each transaction conducted on the app as tracked by a points scheme with a level up mechanism and a gamified bundle purchase mechanism.

Further, users can take advantage of numerous partner promotions, voucher generation, weather, prayer time, loans, entertainment, education, gaming, blood donation information and member reward features. A fully-fledged backend admin portal is available on the app to retrieve management summary reports and CVM analysis.

Curated and developed by Arimac’s elite software engineering team, the ‘YOOZ’ self-care app is now available on Android and iOS platforms, garnering over 30,000 downloads within the first week of release. Despite the numerous challenges posed by the pandemic, YOOZ was brought from concept to reality within just six short months, proving Arimac’s specialised expertise in the forte of software development.
