FTTH surges in Spain

Spain ended February with 11.7 million FTTH connections.

This, according to the latest data published by the regulator CNMC, was 1.3 million more than in the same month last year.

At the same time, the number of DSL connections fell by 0.7 million.

CNMC notes that 81.8% of the connection were accounted for by the three main operators, namely Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono).

Meanwhile, the indirect wholesale broadband access service NEBA (FTTH and copper) lost 6,233 and accumulated 965,777 lines, of which 908,509 were fibre, in February.

As of the end of the month, there were a total of 1.76 million local NEBA lines.
