BT colleagues deliver #SkillsForTomorrow to millions on Doordarshan

Using the power of television, BT colleagues are helping India’s youth become work ready or kickstart their entrepreneurial journey. Their fun, home-made videos sharing tips for young people to achieve #SkillsForTomorrow featured on Map of Me TV which aired on Doordarshan Chandana in Karnataka through October to November. Produced by BT’s NGO partner Going to School, Map of Me TV is a 30-episode BT-branded video series airing prime time on state TV that explores how young people can decide what they want to do or be, how to get a job or become an entrepreneur.

With millions of young people on the move from school to work or enterprise of their choice, there is a marked need for easily accessible skill-based content that shares practical knowledge on what it’s like to start a career or become an entrepreneur. Map of Me, which is funded by BT, fills that void with their mobile youth channel and now, Map of Me TV.

Supporting Map of Me TV, over 50 BT volunteers signed up and submitted close to 40 home-made videos in Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali and Kannada. Their videos help young people become work-ready with topics like where and how to get work experience at no cost, how to self-teach and learn, why tech is a great sector for women, how to crack a job interview and importance of business networking. Over 20 of these videos made it to Map of Me TV on DD Chandana in Karnataka and remaining will go on air in Delhi-NCR and West Bengal soon.

Full episodes of Map of Me TV in Kannada are now available here.
