Netgem has become the latest operator to introduce a Wi-Fi mesh service.
Super WiFi is designed to improve Wi-Fi coverage in consumers’ homes alongside service management tools.
Its launching in France on Netgem’s own Fibre ISP business Videofutur as part of its 1Gbps maFibre platform.
Sylvain Thevenot, chief commercial & customer officer, Netgem Group said: “With more than 25 years of experience working with Telecom Operators by providing innovative Multi-screen TV services, it appeared clear to us with the most demanding service in the home being Video Streaming, that Operators needed a simple and yet powerful solution to offer the best WiFi connectivity behind an Ultrafast Broadband connection.”
Two or three Plug’n Play WiFi pods are configured to the WiFi Alliance Easymesh standard. A mobile device helps the consumer configure their network and monitor their devices – up to 15 in the typoical European home – while operators have access to a cloud-based management tool.
