Hrvatski Telecom begins fibre network upgrade

Croatian operator Hrvatski Telecom kicked off plans in upgrading its HRK19 million ($3 million) fiber-optic network, pledging to connect thousands of premises to 100Mbps connectivity speed.

In a statement, Hrvatski Telecom said the fibre optic connection will be made available to 8,000 premises in the area of Slavonski Brod in the communities of Slavonija 1, Slavonija 2, Kolonija, Mikrorajon, and Osječka Street.

Completion of the work is expected end of October and customer connections to be seen in early November. In future customers, will be able to upgrade up to 1G/bit download speeds

Investments in fibre-optic infrastructure are the basis of technological, economic, and social development because they provide higher speeds, better signals, and many tangible benefits for residential and business customers”, said Boris Drilo, CTIO of Hrvatski Telekom.
