Vodafone has launched Vodafone TV and new converged fixed-mobile offers under the Vodafone One umbrella in Romania.
Commenting on the development, Murielle Lorilloux, CEO of Vodafone Romania, said: “Today we mark an important step in our strategy to strengthen our position on the convergent services market in Romania. I am glad to bring in the homes of Romanians a new innovation and a new entertainment experience, with the Vodafone TV service, along with a convergent and stronger offer, Vodafone One”.
Vodafone TV is based on a platform that includes a 4K mediabox, unique on the Romanian market, which combines interactivity, streaming applications and digital cable. The service offers over 190 channels in SD, HD and 4K, as well as a large VOD collection, with thousands of hours of content and all HBO Go content in a dedicated section. The interface allows direct access to the most popular streaming services in Romania, namely Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and YouTube Kids, Hopster.
Mostafa El Beltagy, consumer business unit director, Vodafone Romania, added: “Consumption habits have changed significantly in recent years, with many of us today preferring a mix between watching linear television and increasing use of ondDemand services. What Vodafone brings today is a solution that perfectly combines the two worlds, with what is best for each of them. Users can, of course, continue to watch live events, such as sports or news, even when they happen, but they can also search for and watch linear TV content a few days later after the broadcast, in a similar way to on demand. Moreover, over time, like on demand services, users can receive recommendations on what is currently broadcast on linear television, based on their preferences. I am convinced that this will be the beginning of a significantly better content and television experience on the Romanian market”.
Vodafone TV service is available in a special offer, for individual customers who opt for a fixed service package, with Vodafone TV, fixed internet and Super Wi-Fi of 500 Mbps, HBO & HBO Go included for 24 months, at €17/ month.
Meanwhile, customers who opt for both mobile and fixed services from Vodafone benefit from even more advantageous offers, with a discount of €120 on 2-year contracts.
