Orange Jordan cooperates with the Ministry of Health and Rahma Worldwide for Aid and Development

Orange Jordan recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Health and Rahma Worldwide for Aid and Development, according to the agreement, visual communication will be provided to people with hearing impairment in several health centers affiliated to the Ministry and by the implementation of SignBook company, in addition to distributing tablets dedicated to translating and reading sign language provided by the association based on specific criteria, the most important of which are the number of beneficiaries, overloading points, and the ability to monitor and evaluate.

Within the framework of the agreement, Rahma Worldwide for Aid and Development provided 24 tablets dedicated to translating and reading sign language. It also supported translation fees for SignBook, in implementation of its plans to affirm the right to equality and the access of all members of society to their rights.

Orange Jordan affirmed on its commitment to provide free internet lines to health centers to support people with hearing impairments in regard to the translation technology of sign language to communicate with the medical cadre there, stemming from the company's ongoing interest in supporting people with disabilities, in addition to paying special attention to offer them advanced technologies that support them, and stemming from its role as the leading digital provider and the Kingdom's digital partner.

The company clarified that this new service will be provided through the SignBook technology developed by one of the participating projects in the company's startup Accelerator Program (BIG). The SignBook has proven its success in 11 Orange stores around the Kingdom, as it provides instant translation options through the video communication service and audio explanation, this is done easily to support and enable people with hearing impairments in knowing the details of the required services and products.

The SignBook technology has proven its effectiveness during the coronavirus pandemic, as Orange Jordan cooperated with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to provide this technology with the aim of supporting people with hearing disabilities to call the COVID-19 inquiries number on the hotline designated for this purpose.

Orange Jordan pays great attention to the health, social, and cultural requirements of people with disabilities, as it forms one of its corporate social responsibility pillars. The company launched "Differently abled, definitely enabled" umbrella, through which it is keen to support them in integrating into the society, It has devoted its technical resources to provide high-quality internet connectivity supported by international technology that serves all sectors and segments of the society.
