Kacific-1 Asia-Pacific broadband satellite launch scheduled for 16 December

After six years of preparation, the Kacific-1 high-throughput Ka-band satellite is scheduled for launch next month, providing high speed, low-cost, stable broadband internet access across remote, rural and suburban areas of the Pacific and South East Asia. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Kacific-1/JCSAT-18 satellite on 16 December 2019 from Cape Canaveral, Florida (US), according to Rocketlaunch.live. Kacific confirmed on its website on 5 November that Kacific-1 was being shipped from the Boeing Satellite Systems International factory in California to Cape Canaveral for launch preparation.

Kacific, with offices in Singapore, Australia and Vanuatu, is offering wholesale bandwidth to telecoms operators, ISPs, governments and other service providers. It has formed partnerships in the following countries: American Samoa, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Indonesia, Kiribati, Malaysia, Myanmar, Federated States of Micronesia, Nepal, New Zealand, Niue, Northern Mariana, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
