RCS&RDS (DIGI), Romania’s fourth largest cellco by subscribers, is to provide 4G services using the 900MHz frequency band in addition to its existing 2100MHz and 2600MHz LTE networks.
Following successful trials in Arges County, the company now plans to extend the use of its 900MHz frequencies to other areas of the country in the coming months in order to enhance its LTE network footprint, which currently covers 75% of population. Alongside the new 900MHz 4G network, DIGI will use 2G technology to enhance coverage indoors and in rural areas.
