Orange Jordan has signed a partnership with Luminus ShamalStart to launch the Mobile FabLab, which aims to train young people in the governorates in modern digital manufacturing methods. The Mobile FabLab can be moved easily from one place to another. It is a shipping container with digital manufacturing tools similar to those found in Digital Manufacturing Laboratories but at a smaller scale.
The training programme at the Mobile FabLab is based on the FAB Academy programme used by Fab Lab Irbid and coming under the Fab Foundation umbrella, managed by Neil Gershenfeld from Bits and Atoms Centre at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Beneficiaries of the Mobile Fab Lab training programme will receive a Mini Maker Diploma at the end, which will qualify them to work in different areas of digital manufacturing.
