November launch for Apple+ streaming service

Apple is looking to launch its new Apple TV+ streaming service by November, according to a Bloomberg report.

Its expected that a small selection of shows and movies will initially be introduced as the Cuppertino company gradually builds its library. This will run alongside a free trial ahead of a monthly fee of $9.99.

Apple will enter an increasingly crowded market with high-profile international launches expected from Disney and NBC, plus in the UK market the ITV-BBC venture Britbox.

Apple is now in the 5th public beta of its new desktop operating system Catalina, which for the first time introduces a desktop TV app. This combines with its substantial inventory of iPhones and iPads, and Apple TV boxes. It also has agreed to rollout an app to Samsung TVs.

Separately, the Financial Times reports Apple has set aside $6 billion for original shows and movies.
