Airtel Digital TV is said to be readying to launch a Chromecast-style XStream Stick for its customers to view OTT content like Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services.
According to reports within the Android TV web community, Airtel is to launch a new plan called Airtel Stick Bundle, and has renamed its Airtel TV app XStream app.
The source says that the XStream app is being integrated with the stick and will allow users to pair the stick with their mobile phone. It will also come with Chromecast support. The XStream service is expected to be bundled in DTH, broadband and post-paid plans, and existing customers need not buy any new service.
In a similar move in May 2019, Airtel introduced Amazon Prime Video membership to its prepaid customers in what it calls an industry first.
