Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Jusfoun Big Data Information Group to establish an office for the company in Egypt, including a Centre of Excellence to export IT services. The deal will help the company expands its services in Africa and various Arab countries, starting from its office in Egypt. During the three-year MoU, Jusfoun will recruit 300 Egyptian young people in specialized jobs in an initial phase.
The MoU also stipulates that ITIDA shall provide the needed support to facilitate the company’s work and develop the specialized skills required for work at the office in Egypt. The two companies have also agreed on signing an agreement within the next two months to establish a capacity building academy in AI, big data, and cloud computing, and establish a cloud computing system in cooperation with Telecom Egypt through its data centre.
In addition, the two sides agreed to cooperate to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and activities of startups specializing in big data and AI, through cooperating with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
