Russian national operator Rostelecom continues the expansion of public Wi-Fi networks in villages in the Kurgan region. Work is carried out under the framework of the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide in villages. A total of 39 small settlements including more than 13,500 residents are planned to be covered in the region this year.
Rostelecom also announced that it has completed work on the deployment of the Wi-Fi network for units of Gazenergobank in the city and region of Kaluga. Wi-Fi services have become available for customers visiting 19 units of the bank there. The national operator has implemented the project using its standard product Managed Wi-Fi For Businesses.
