The Egyptian government has resolved to connect all new buildings and residential homes in the country with fibre optic cable and seeks to revise the building code to include the communication networks code, which has standard specifications for communications infrastructure. ICT minister Amr Talaat said the move is part of efforts by the ministry to develop internet services and boost speeds across the country.
The ministry announced that Talaat said priority will be given to the development and modernisation of infrastructure and communication networks, to serve the transition to a digital society.
