Inwi has retained the title of best mobile internet provider in Morocco, in the annual study compiled by internet speed test site nPerf, based on measures gathered throughout 2018. Over the year, nPerf recorded close to 46,870 speed tests, rating the country’s three mobile networks in a score-based system on metrics including download/upload speed, latency, and streaming/browsing performance.
Across all 2G/3G/4G networks, nPerf said that the average download speed in the country rose by 24 percent year-on-year to 16.5 Mbps. Scoring 18.7 Mbps, Inwi’s download speed result was comfortably ahead of Orange and Maroc Telecom (15.7 and 15.0 Mbps, respectively). Commenting on this performance, nPerf noted that Inwi’s average speed improved significantly in the last quarter of 2018, showing that its technical partnership with Huawei is bearing fruit.
The operator came first in all of the other indicators covered by nPerf’s scoring system. It achieved a faster average upload speed (9.4 Mbps) and a much lower average latency than its rivals (56.95 ms), while also topping the browsing and streaming performance metrics.
