Orange TV will become available as a DTH service in Slovakia from August 15.
It will also be offered over the internet, thereby making it available virtually anywhere and on any device.
Techbox reports that the DTH service will be offered in three tiers, with the cheapest Home Basic TV consisting of 16 TV channels and costing €6 a month.
Home Optimal TV will offer over 30 TV channels and cost €10 a month, while Home Premium TV will provide 45 TV channels for €15 a month.
Meanwhile, Orange TV over the internet will be offered in two packages. GO Basic TV will consist of over 16 TV channels and cost €6 a month, while GO Optimal TV will provide over 30 TV channels and cost €10 a month.
The Orange TV DTH service will be distributed by Eutelsat 16A at 16 degrees East, while the internet service may be accessed through the Arris VIP 4302 set-top box, mobile app and Chrome web browser.
Broadband TV News notes that Orange ended the first half of this year with 66,000 digital TV subscribers in Slovakia.
In his comments on the company’s results, published last month, Orange Slovensko’s CEO Pavol Lancaric said: “Because we want to be a full-fledged convergence player for all our customers, the development of our television, whether in terms of platform expansion or content enhancement, is key to us and fits into our converging strategy. That is why we are currently focusing on further improving our TV services, both in terms of availability and content. One without the other has no meaning”.
He added: “We have strengthened our position in the area of TV content, as we will exclusively broadcast the Champions League’s football league with at least the three closest seasons in Slovakia along with other exclusive sports content on the new Sport Sport sports channel. At the same time, we are preparing to launch satellite TV and other innovative ways of distributing TV content”.
