The UAE’s telecommunication providers Etisalat and du have given its customers a new service logo name this morning, “WelcomePresChina,” to mark the UAE-China Week.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is due to arrive in the UAE on Thursday. Xi is paying a state visit to the UAE at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Etisalat and du customers were surprised to see the change since Wednesday midnight. Some took to the social media to share the moment.
“The visit will further consolidate mutual political and strategic trust between the two countries and enhance bilateral cooperation, leading to a future-oriented strategic partnership that involves the region and benefits the world,” Chinese Ambassador Ni Jian said.
“Xi’s visit will also enhance the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for humanity,” the ambassador added.
