MTS Belarus extends 4G LTE footprint in Minsk region

In a website update, Belarusian mobile network operator MTS Belarus has provided details of the latest areas to receive 4G services. Under its ongoing LTE rollout programme – which is being carried out in conjunction with Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud), the nation’s 4G infrastructure provider – MTS Belarus has started offering commercial tariff plans in Dubenci, Zaceni, Tsnjanka and Novy Dvor, through the installation of more than 40 additional 4G base stations.

As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, last month MTS Belarus, a joint limited liability company controlled by state-owned Intercity Communications (51%) and Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) of Russia (49%), lit its 4G services in twelve towns and cities in the regions of Minsk, Mogilev and Vitebsk, benefiting residents of: Fanipoli, Shchomyslitsa, Mikhanovichi, Mogilev-Dribin, Belynich, Bykhov and Slavgorod (Minsk region); Baranja, Gorodok, Liozno, Sharkovshchina and Bolbasovo (Vitebsk region); and Krichev, Molodechno, Zhodzina and Soligorsk (Gorki region).

All told, the latest service expansion means that 4G from MTS Belarus is now available in more than 150 towns/cities across the country, with the aim to cover all regional centres and all settlements with more than 50,000 inhabitants by the end of 2018.
