Movistar Ecuador, the nation’s second largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced the launch of VoLTE on its network. The Telefonica-owned company has initially made VoLTE available in capital city Quito, with a countrywide rollout to follow.
Movistar launched its 4G LTE mobile network in May 2015 and according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, now covers ten out of 24 Ecuadorian regions, with 864 LTE base stations nationwide.
