Digicel Fiji extends 4G+ coverage

DIGICEL Fiji customers in Lautoka and Ba are in for a new internet speed experience as the company has extended its continuing roll out of 4G+ network to the two towns.

This was announced by the company yesterday joining other areas nationwide such as Nadi, the greater Suva area, Lami and Nausori — areas experiencing "superfast internet speed" on the Digicel network.

The roll out is part of Digicel Fiji's lucrative $50 million investment announced earlier in the year aimed at improving internet access and customer experience for people in Lautoka and Ba.

According to Digicel Fiji chief executive officer Michael Greig, this was a major step for Digicel and highlighted their ongoing commitment to Fiji's second city Lautoka and neighbouring town Ba.

"Our customers are now able to browse, stream and download using world-class internet speeds on the Digicel 4G+ network," he said in a statement.

"This latest network enhancement will also provide cutting edge solutions for our corporate customers."

The company stated that its customers in Lautoka between Lomolomo and Matawalu were now on the 4G+ service including the city center, Lauwaki, Malawiya, Navutu, Namoli, Kashmir, Saru, Waiyavi, Rifle Range, Vuda and Vitogo.

In Ba, Digicel 4G+ coverage stretches from Varavu to Tavarau including the town area, Nawelowelo, Nailaga, Vasavaruru, Clopcott and Vatulaulau.

"It is great that Ba, which has a strong farming background and the home of some large corporate and manufacturing greats of this country, has access to 4G+ services," Mr Greig said.

"We will announce further enhancements to our network upgrade in the future. Our new superfast network will enhance the way people communicate in Lautoka and Ba with the rest of the country."

With the roll out in place, Digicel customers could also efficiently enjoy the networks 'Big Phat' data plans in Fiji, which offers customers a 7GB of data for $7 for seven days.
