Austrian IPTV service provider Ocilion has equipped Wobcom, the telecommunications subsidiary of German public utility company Stadtwerke Wolfsburg, with an end-to-end IPTV solution.
The offer which Wobcom obtained through the purchasing group of German industry association BREKO includes both the technology as well as the content rights and service. Network operators can freely choose the white label product’s layout and design of the user interface.
In addition to a video-on-demand service and an online video recorder (network PVR) with series recording function and expandable storage space, Wobcom also individualises its IPTV service with a comprehensive range of HD channels and the option of viewing the TV channels on several mobile devices through an app.
The IPTV set-top-box (pictured) Wobcom customers require for reception is an in-house development in cooperation with TechniSat, an Ocilion spokesman told Broadband TV News. The device is included in the monthly price of the IPTV package.
