China Mobile's Pakistani subsidiary Zong has launched a new 4G smart car solution in Islamabad, with plans to shortly expand the launch nationwide.
Zong 4G Smart Car solution is designed to provide onboard vehicle diagnostics, tracking and enhanced connectivity in a single package.
The device will allow customers to turn their vehicles into Wi-Fi hotspots for up to 10 smartphones and devices simultaneously.
In addition, the solution will obtain vehicles' onboard data including RPM, speed, fuel levels and mileage in real time, and to track their vehicles and receive notifications once the vehicle leaves pre-set safe zones.
The solution is plug and play for all Honda and Toyota cars made after 2000, with as little as 30 seconds of installation time required. It is now available in all Zong 4G walk-in customer service centers in Islamabad and will soon be launched nationwide. Free demos are available at the centers.
Zong launched 4G in 2015, and the network currently covers more than 300 cities across Pakistan.
