life:), MTS Belarus expands 4G network

Mobile network operator (MNO) Belarusian Telecommunications Network (BeST, life:)), says it has launched 4G LTE services in 17 more towns and cities across the country this month, namely: Svisloch, Slonim, Borovaya, Krugloe, Gorki, Krichev, Petrikov, Kamenets, Ivatsevichy, Zhabinka, Malorita, Stolin, Ivanovo, Bereza, Lyakhovichi, Buda-Koshelevo and Zhitkovichi. The cellco’s service – hosted by infrastructure partner Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud) – is now supported by more than 830 base transceiver stations (BTS), providing data speeds of up to 112Mbps.

Meanwhile, life:)’s rival, MTS Belarus, says that this month it has switched on its 4G network in nine more cities in Brest and Gomel regions – again in partnership with beCloud – increasing its total coverage to more than 90 towns and cities across Belarus. The MNO’s latest expansion takes in Zhabinka, Ivanovo, Ivatsevichi, Kamenets, Malorita, Stolin, Bereza and Lyakhovichi (Brest region), and Buda-Koshelevo, one of the regional centres of the Gomel region, it said. MTS Belarus says it has more than one million subscribers on the new generation network.
