Tunisie Telecom names new CEO

Former Tunisie Telecom executive Mohamed Fadhel Kraiem has returned to the company two years after leaving to become CEO of retailer Monoprix.

The Tunisian operator confirmed that Kraiem has been named as its new CEO and chairman, replacing former CTO Nizar Bouguila at the helm.

Kraiem originally joined Tunisie Telecom in 2010, becoming its deputy CEO with the task of leading commercial and financial activities. He left at the end of 2015.

Though he was initially appointed last month, Kraiem, who brings extensive experience in the telecoms market to the role, was only confirmed by the board this week.

His previous roles have included stints with Maroc Telecom and French mobile operator SFR. The firm has also seen a change in shareholding, according to Anouar Maârouf, the minister of information technologies and digital economy.

“Following the exit of Dubaï Holding, an agreement was signed with the Emirati firm Abraj so that it acquires a 35% stake in Tunisie Telecom,” the minister said on Express fm.
