TIM (Telecom Italia) has announced a series of interventions in Lucca with a view to boosting the Tuscan city's mobile network ahead of the forthcoming Rolling Stones concerts on 23 September. The company said it’s increasing the capacity tenfold compared with normal circumstances via the installation of a mobile base stations equipped with powerful antennas to optimise radio coverage. It has also installed the necessary hardware to provide a 4G-based public safety system in support of law enforcement activities and in coordination with the local police force.
