Tele2 Estonia upgrades LTE network for faster speeds

Mobile operator Tele2 Estonia has started upgrading 112 of its LTE base stations. Mobile internet speeds will double or triple for end-users following the upgrade.

Two additional carrier bands will be added to the base stations. The maximum speed will increase to 225 Mbps or 375 Mbps, depending on the base station. The average speed will be 75-125 Mbps.

The upgrade will be carried out on base stations based in various locations across the country, including the city of Tallinn.

The operator also plans to deploy a total 434 new base stations this year.
