Mobilkom Serbia (VIP Mobile), the local subsidiary of Telekom Austria Group, is reportedly planning to invest EUR30 million (USD33 million) in 2017, mainly focusing on expanding its 4G LTE network, domestic news source Beta writes. Company CEO Dejan Turk disclosed that VIP Mobile currently offers LTE services to 85% of the population, with the earmarked funding set to increase coverage to 90% by year-end. Further, the executive highlighted that his company has invested nearly EUR1 billion since commencing services in Serbia a decade ago.
TeleGeography notes that VIP Mobile launched its 4G network in late March 2015, claiming to be the first company in the country to offer LTE services, with coverage of the entirety of Pancevo and areas of Belgrade.
