Televisa boosts IPTV footprint in Mexico

The near one million people living in the city will join subscribers from 60 other cities, including the country’s capital and Monterrey, to receive Televisa’s advanced fibre-based TV offering.

Through the recently deployed 1,700km of fibre network, which replaced the former cable connections, Televisa is deploying fixed services, including voice, high-speed broadband up to 100Mbps and pay-TV, including both a linear and a video-on-demand (VOD) option. All the services are delivered on a standalone basis or as part of convergent packages.

In addition, subscribers can access the service on-the-go through the izzi app, which integrates live TV and VOD through an over-the-top (OTT) solution recently implemented by Mirada.

According to René Bortoni Alanis, GM of izzi’s northern division, San Luis Potosí is an important place to be as it strengthens the company’s footprint in Mexico’s central regions, both for the residential market and small businesses.

“Through our services, we are sure San Luis Potosí will be one of those cities in which izzi is the preferred option for users, as it satisfies all their needs,” stated the company.
