The Ugandan government has announced a 30-day extension to its SIM re-registration programme, after facing legal objections to its original seven-day deadline.
The country’s telecoms regulator, the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), is requiring all mobile users to validate their existing registered details using the new national ID card
The registration programme will now run until 19 May.
