Morocco’s ONMT offers digital campaign to promote tourism

The Moroccan Tourism Office (ONMT) has launched a digital campaign to deliver “content in an innovative and original way with the aim of guaranteeing authentic cultural immersion.”

The announcement was made by Director General of the ONMT, Abderrafie Zouiten, on Tuesday, during a press conference in Rabat.

The project, which offers culturally enriched content, will include six bloggers from several countries such as France, the USA and China. It will also incorporate six viral videos and six different themes. According to Zouiten, the themes will include Gastronomy, History, Discovery, Beauty, Decoration and Sport.

The project is a collection of entertaining and informative videos that fuse vlog, reportage and tutorial videos, directly influencing their diverse fan bases on the cultural aspects of Morocco.

Tourism Growth in Morocco:

Zouiten added that tourism growth in Morocco is expected to increase 6% compared with 2016. This increase represents over 600,000 additional foreign tourists expected to come to Morocco in 2017. The anticipated growth in tourism will have a direct impact on the economy’s balance of payments and the labor market, explained Zouiten.

He also highlighted that there will be a reinforcement of flights between Europe and Morocco, starting April 2017. This will include flights from Paris, Palma de Mallorca, Eindhoven, Lyon, Strasbourg, London, Barcelona, Bordeaux, Brussels and Rome.
