Netflix has reiterated its intention to add HDR video content support for smartphones and other mobile devices.
Video streaming company Netflix has plans to add support for HDR video content on mobile devices, according to a new report from The Verge.
Referring to a briefing between journalists and Netflix chief product officer Neil Hunt that took place in San Francisco, the article notes how Netflix intends to create content with scenes or shots that feature a more immersive viewing experience when watched on mobile devices.
Speaking about the new content, Hunt said:
‘It’s not inconceivable that you could take a master [copy] and make a different cut for mobile.’
Netflix has already experimented in HDR; the soon to be released Iron Fist is Netflix’s first show to be shot natively in HDR.
