Bangladeshi mobile operators Robi and Airtel have started the integration of their networks in Sylhet. Robi says the combined network will give Airtel subscribers nearly double the coverage it used to have in these areas along with increased internet speeds on a 3.5G network due to the combined spectrum.
To access the upgraded network, Airtel subscribers should go to ‘Network’ option in the ‘Settings’ menu on their handset, and manually search and select any one of the options: Airtel/Airtel2G/ Airtel3G/ 47002/ Robi3G/ Robi axiata/BGDRobi/Aktel (one of these will be visible depending on the subscriber’s handset). In addition, customers need to activate the Data Roaming option on their mobile handset.
As an introductory offer, Airtel subscribers will receive 1 GB for Facebook access for three days, once they activate the Data Roaming option. Robi and Airtel have completed their network integration in Chittagong, Comilla, Noakhali, Khulna, Barisal & Kushtia.
