Spanish-based over-the-top (OTT) platform Wuaki.tv is releasing a new iOS app which enables users to pay for content on-the-go.
Aiming to drive more video consumption towards mobile devices, the video-on-demand (VOD) service enables access to the pay-per-view section, which was previously only available for the browser platform and smart TVs.
In addition, the area of unlimited video watching for subscribers has been revamped. The new app includes a better search engine and adds an auto-play option to take advantage of binge-viewing habits.
“We are committed to continuously improve user experience, and we are sure the new iOS platform is a step forward in the right direction,” stated the company in a release.
Based in Barcelona, the Rakuten-owned platform has ambitious plans for the future, as it’s extending its availability across Europe. Already having a strong position in the UK, Wuaki.tv is also present in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Austria.
