Vodafone to increase speed on 4G LTE to 375Mbps across 50 cities in Germany

Vodafone Germany announced that it will be offering later this year 4G LTE speeds of 375 Mbps across 50 cities. The operator plans to expand the 375Mbps LTE advanced service to all major cities and increase the speed further to 525 Mbps in future. In addition, Vodafone claims that it will be boosting the speed on the service further to more than 1Gbps at select locations, but did not provide any timeline to this.

Vodafone LTE Advanced service is now available to 87% of Germany or 7.7 million customers - with speeds up to 225 Mbps.

Vodafone said that as part of its network expansion, it has invested €5 billion within the last two years and improved its premium network. Vodafone added that it has significantly expanded its capacities, especially in high-traffic locations such as stadiums, shopping malls, train stations and airports, and also along the highways and rail lines.

According to the Operator, by modernizing its network, its customers are already experiencing the best voice quality with Voice over LTE and the highest network availability. Call abandonment rate dropped by 0.44% to its lowest, said the Operator.
