TRAs of Oman, Jordan sign agreement

The telecom regulatory authorities of Oman and Jordan (JTRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the 14th annual meeting of the Arab Network for Regulatory Commissions of Telecommunications and Information Technology, held in the Jordanian capital Amman.

Dr Hamad bin Salim al Rawahi, CEO of Oman’s TRA, and Dr Ghazi al Jabour, chairman of JTRA, signed the MoU.

The agreement will open up new areas of cooperation between the two in the field of regulating the sector in accordance with laws and regulations, in addition to cooperation in the field of spectrum management and allocation of new frequency bands to increase access and improve the quality of mobile Internet services.

It will also help develop the necessary criteria for the improvement of free competition and upgrading the quality of telecommunications, postal services and other topics of interest.
