Huawei, MTN introduce affordable smartphones

A leading global ICT solutions provider, Huawei technologies and telecom giant MTN have teamed up to introduce entry level smart phones in Uganda this festive season.

Allan Kyobe of Huawei says they have introduced two new smartphones on the market, the Huawei ascend Y 221 which costs only sh120, 000 and the Huawei ascend Y330 which costs sh.150, 000.

These new additions to Huawei’s line of smartphones are targeting mainly entry level smartphone users but come with all the applications and sophistication you would expect from a smart phone at affordable prices.

The Y221 is a dual sim smartphone that comes with android 4.4 kitkat operating system, a 3.5 inch capacitive screen, a 2.0 MP camera, 3G capability, a cool 4GB of internal memory, 28mm duo core CPU with lower power consumption, longer stand by battery, advanced Bluetooth, enhanced Wi-Fi and an accelerometer sensor among others.

While, the Ascend Y330 has a quality design, compact finish, a 3.15 MP camera, with a video recording and play back function, 4 inch LCD screen, high speed USB, 4GB internal memory, it comes Wi Fi enabled with GPRS, duo SIM, 4.2 android jelly bean operating system and a GPS location system inbuilt as well.  

The phone also offers talk time of up to 5 hours battery and 320 hours stand by for the battery, MP3 and MP4 player and fast reliable internet speed.
