ONO TV Online goes Android

ONO TV Online – which is also available for computers, iPads and Android tablets – offers nearly 40 pay-TV channels on mobile screens plus access to Videoclub, ONO's video-on-demand (VOD) service with series, movies, documentaries and kids programming.

The mobile and online platform comes at no extra cost for ONO's TV subscribers, who have only to activate the service on the telco's website. The content is then available for computers at onotvonline.es and through the ONO TV Online app available at App Store and Google Play.

The company continues announcing independent developments while building an offer with Vodafone, which has owned the Spanish telco since June. Both companies are already delivering some mobile packages together, but the TV offer is still exclusively ONO's.

In March, ONO agreed to the €7.2 billion buyout as a way of dealing with its huge debt, just before the cable operator was taken public - an move that received the green light from the competition and telecom regulators in June.

ONO is considered an important player in the Spanish pay-TV market, having one million TV subscribers and competing for the sector's second place with Telefónica's Movistar.
