ZTE bags Mobile, Telecom contracts

Chinese vendor ZTE has secured contracts with China Telecom and China Mobile to supply equipment for the pair’s Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, the supplier announced in press releases this week. ZTE won a 30.77% share of a tender to provide China Mobile with high performance routers. Under the China Mobile contract, ZTE will provide its ZXR10 M6000-S broadband multi-service gateway, to be installed in the cellco’s network for services including LTE, IP-based metropolitan area networks (MAN), internet data centres and enterprise-class services. Meanwhile, ZTE is assisting China Telecom with its deployment of an evolved multiple broadcast multiple service (eMBMS) system on the cellco’s hybrid LTE network. Telecom’s eMBMS service has been launched in Wuxi, supported by ZTE’s IP radio access network (RAN) technology, enabling mobile video services and high-quality voice calls to be delivered simultaneously.
