Intel Joins 4G Americas Board for Advancement of Mobile Broadband Technologies Beyond LTE

Bellevue, Washington-based 4G Americas, a wireless industry trade association representing the 3GPP family of technologies, this week announced the election of Intel to its Board of Governors. Intel will join leading service providers and manufacturers to foster the advancement and full capabilities of LTE and LTE-Advanced technologies throughout the ecosystem's networks, services, applications and wirelessly connected devices in the Americas.

4G Americas' Board of Governors members include: Alcatel-Lucent, América Móvil, AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Cisco, CommScope, Entel, Ericsson, HP, Mavenir, Nokia Solutions and Networks, Openwave Mobility, Qualcomm, Rogers, Sprint, T-Mobile USA, Telefónica, and now Intel.

According to 4G Americas, Intel's leadership in the area of wireless communications, chipsets and microprocessors adds to an important piece of the mobile technology ecosystem at 4G Americas. As seamless interoperability between all-IP cellular and Wi-Fi networks becomes standard, devices and chipsets are working together to deliver the best customer experience with the optimal capacity for the challenge of increasing data traffic, added 4G Americas.
