Vacationers with iPhones and devices running Google's Android can now spend more time exploring their surroundings with an "Explore" button in the updated Google Maps for Android app.
Google Maps Product Manager Taj Campbell said the new Explore button at the bottom right corner will feature places and activities that adapt to each area and moment throughout the day.
"You can spend less time searching for your answer and more time exploring the world with the Google Maps app for Android and iOS," Campbell said in a blog post.
Such a feature allows a vacationer to "plan your day’s outing or daydream about your next vacation."
But Campbell said a user will have to be signed in with location reporting and history turned on.
Android device owners can tap on the "My Location" button at the bottom right or on the blue dot on the map, and quickly access more info about their location such as restaurant reviews and transit schedules.
