Algerie Telecom (AT), the country’s incumbent fixed line provider, has enlisted Nokia Networks to modernise its transport network with a highly flexible seamless Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) platform, which is expected to help deliver significantly improved broadband services to subscribers. Under the five-year contract, Nokia Network’s Global Services project management and network implementation team will deploy Juniper Networks’ IP/MPLS solution, which is optimised to provide system scalability and will address the unpredictable growth of data traffic. The deployment will help the telco to save on operating costs and enable AT to offer flexible end-to-end transport services more efficiently and securely across network domains. Further, Nokia Networks will also provide network planning, optimisation and systems integration services.
