OK Mobile, a US-registered handset manufacturer which previously expanded to China, has launched a Bangladesh-based mobile device assembly business in collaboration with state-owned Telephone Shilpa Sangstha, the Dhaka Tribune reports. The joint venture claims to be offering the first ever locally-assembled mobile handsets in Bangladesh, having initially launched two low-budget models on the market, with plans for more launches shortly, including smartphones – the assembly equipment for which should be in place by December.
