Cisco helps enhance TV-watching experience of nearly 30 million viewers of DEN Networks

Cisco has reached a key milestone of six million digital pay-TV homes on DEN Networks. DEN is using Cisco's technologies to enhance the TV-watching experience of nearly 30 million viewers across India, with an estimated industry average of five people per household.

This achievement re-inforces customers' confidence in the innovative technology, digital TV services and solutions provided by Cisco.

DEN Networks, one of India's largest cable TV multi-system operators, has made a huge contribution to the rapidly-changing dynamics of the pay-TV industry. Some of the company's achievements include the following:

* DEN was formed in 2007 and spearheaded consolidation in the Indian cable TV industry, becoming the largest MSO in India within three years of its formation.

* DEN was amongst the early adopters of digital cable TV, launching its digital services in 2008.

* In 2009, DEN launched DEN Music, the first multi-genre digital music app in the Indian cable TV industry.

* The same year, DEN also became India's first cable MSO to complete an initial public offering.

* In 2012, DEN became one of the first cable MSOs to launch a High Definition video service.

* Media Partners Asia (MPA) has identified DEN amongst the front runners in the deployment of set-top boxes, digitising millions of cable TV homes under Phase I and II of the government's digital addressable system (DAS) mandate.

Now, with approximately 75 million subscribers forecasted to go digital by the end of Phases III and IV, DEN is energetically working towards much greater improvements by offering its subscribers the next-generation in television viewing experience bundled with services powered by the most advanced technologies.
