GTA continues to expand its Fiber-to-the-Home network across Guam, with the latest rollout reaching homes in Yona, from Willy Road to Cruz Road. Portions of Santa Rita are now live, with more neighborhoods expected to come online in the weeks ahead. These expansions are part of GTA’s broader mission to close connectivity gaps, especially in underserved areas of southern Guam.
New fiber locations now include parts of Yona; Santa Rita, specifically from Talisay Drive to Sgt. E. Cruz Street; Apotgan; parts of Upper Tumon; and several areas in Dededo, including Ypaopao, Astumbo, Mataguac, Wusstig and West Liguan. Parts of Andersen Air Force Base have also been connected.
These developments reflect GTA’s ongoing commitment to delivering fast, reliable internet service and improving digital access for communities across the island. “We remain committed to investing in the growth and resiliency of Guam’s digital infrastructure,” said Nate Denight, senior vice president of product and marketing at GTA. “Our ongoing fiber and wireless expansions are part of a long-term strategy to ensure every resident - regardless of location - has access to the high-speed connectivity they need to thrive.”
The fiber rollout is part of a $29.7 million broadband infrastructure initiative funded through the USDA ReConnect Program. The project extends fiber service from Yona to Hågat and into select northern areas, bringing gigabit-speed internet to communities that have long been underserved.
Since early 2024, GTA has delivered fiber-powered gigabit speeds and next-generation Wi-Fi through Plume HomePass, supported by a resilient underground network designed to withstand Guam’s typhoons.
Current fiber-covered areas include Tamuning, Adacao, Maina, Barrigada, Hagåtña and Apra Harbor in North Tipalao. For areas not yet reached by fiber, GTA offers AirFiber, a fixed wireless alternative that delivers speeds up to 500 Mbps, providing reliable, cable-free connectivity.
